Classical Pearls Tiger Pearls are formulated to address chronic bowel stagnation in middle-aged and elderly individuals through a constitutional approach. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) typically views bowel stagnation as a result of yangming heat combined with metal dryness, necessitating purgative treatment with cooling and moistening ingredients, such as Maziren Wan (Hemp Seed Pill). However, many patients experiencing chronic bowel stagnation are elderly, thyroid deficient, and have compromised bowel motility. To counter this, Tiger Pearls utilize Sun Simiao’s 7th-century formulation, Wenpi Tang (Warm the Spleen Decoction), which aims to “restart” the digestive system by combining the purgative effects of rhubarb with herbs that gently warm the Spleen and Kidney. Additionally, the 2nd-century formula Taohe Chengqi Tang (Peach Pit Decoction to Order the Qi) enhances blood circulation in the intestinal walls, facilitating the elimination of cellular waste and helping to prevent degenerative processes.
