Shan Zha Jiang Zhi Pian, Tablets

Guang Ci Tang^® Shan Zha Jian Zhi Pian, also known as Hawthopower^™ and formerly called Shan Zha Jiang Zhi Pian, is a Chinese herbal formula used to support healthy lipid metabolism and a healthy weight. The formula is based on traditional Chinese medicine principles and features Shan Zha, or Chinese hawthorn fruit, as a primary ingredient.

TCM Formula Profile

In traditional Chinese medicine, Shan Zha supports digestion to remove food retention from the stomach while supporting blood circulation to disperse blood stasis. Hawthorn fruit is also used in Western herbalism, where the fruit, leaf, and flower are primarily used to support heart health.

The actions of Shan Zha are complemented by several additional Chinese herbs. Dan Shen is traditionally used to invigorate blood and remove blood stasis. Zhi He Shou Wu tonifies the liver and kidneys. Huang Lian drains fire and dampness, resolves toxicity, and is a rich source of berberine. Zhi Da Huang drains fire, removes toxins, and moistens the intestines to support bowel movement. Mu Li nourishes Yin and calms the liver.

The proprietary blend also includes Tian Kui Zi and Zhi Nan Xing. Together, the herbs form an all-natural Chinese herbal supplement intended to support healthy lipid metabolism and healthy weight.

Concentrated Herbal Preparation

Each bottle contains 200 uncoated tablets at 200 mg per tablet, providing 40 grams of formula. The tablets are made at a true 5:1 concentration, and each tablet represents the equivalent of 1 gram of dry herbs.

A traditional water decoction is prepared from the herbs and concentrated using proprietary technology to form an herbal extract. The concentrated extract is then made into tablets. The formula contains only 7% fillers and binders by tablet weight and contains no pharmaceutical ingredients or dyes.

Uncoated Tablets

The tablets are intentionally left uncoated to minimize the use of excipients. One or two tablets may occasionally break during transportation. The uncoated tablets can also be dissolved in hot water and served as a tea.
