Zhi Zi Chi Tang, translated as Gardenia and Prepared Soybean Decoction, is a classical TCM formula from the Shang Han Lun. It is a small but elegant two-ingredient formula specifically designed to clear residual heat from the chest and epigastrium following a febrile illness, where lingering heat disturbs the spirit and causes restlessness and irritability.
