Zi Shen Tong Er Tang, translated as Nourish the Kidneys to Unblock the Ears Decoction, is a classical TCM formula for hearing disorders arising from Kidney and Liver yin and blood deficiency with Liver fire rising upward. In TCM, the Kidneys open into the ears, and their yin and blood must be sufficient for normal hearing function to be maintained.
