Our castile soap is made with organic coconut, sunflower and castor oils instead of olive oil. We found this new formula to be superior and less “slippery.” It also contains potassium hydroxide. Potassium hydroxide (KOH) is an inorganic compound, also known as caustic potash, that is used to saponify the oils. The formula contains only a small amount, and it does not affect the organic certification of the product. It is a powerful cleaner which suds beautifully and leaves no greasy residue.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; font-size: medium;\"\u003eOur castile soap is biodegradable under certain conditions when used outside. In order to break down properly, any biodegradable soap must be placed in the soil at a depth of at least six inches or more so that the natural bacteria present in the ground will break it down.
