Apricot Seed & Linum Formula - Downward draining - Moistening-Purgative Formula
This effective formula is similar to Run Chang Wan, but is better suited for constipation marked by stagnation, heat and dryness. The original formula called for dried stir-fried cannabis seeds (Huo Ma Ren). Here, flax seed (Hu Ma Ren) is substituted. The oily properties of the seed are retained, aiding in lubrication and movement of the stool. (Fratkin, Chinese Herbal Patent Medicines)
