Hedysari Radix (Hong Qi) is a frequent substitute for Astragali Radix (Huang Qi), particularly in Japan and Taiwan. It generally shares the same functions but is slightly less effective at tonifying Qi. Additionally, it can promote urination, making it especially useful in treating edema caused by Qi deficiency.
