Jin Kui Shen Qi Tang (Kidney Qi Pill from the Golden Cabinet) is the foundational classical formula for warming and tonifying Kidney Yang. Recorded in the Jin Gui Yao Lue by Zhang Zhong-jing, this formula addresses Kidney Yang deficiency with insufficient fire at the gate of vitality (Ming Men). It builds upon the Yin-nourishing base of Liu Wei Di Huang Tang with the addition of Rou Gui and Zhi Fu Zi to kindle Yang within Yin. For use under practitioner supervision.

• Traditionally used for lower back weakness and pain, cold sensation in the lower body, frequent urination, urinary difficulty with edema, and cold limbs
• Applicable in chronic presentations including nephritis, hypothyroidism, diabetes mellitus, and neurasthenia conforming to Kidney Yang deficiency
• Contains prepared Zhi Fu Zi (processed Aconite root): must be used under the supervision of a licensed TCM practitioner
• Contraindicated in Yin deficiency with dry mouth and throat, and a red tongue with little coating
