Jin Suo Gu Jing Wan (Golden Lock to Consolidate the Essence Pill) is a classical astringent formula from the Yi Fang Ji Jie (Analytic Collection of Medical Formulas). It is the principal formula for Kidney qi deficiency with failure to consolidate and retain essence. The formula combines astringent agents - Sha Yuan Ji Li, Qian Shi, Lian Zi, and Lian Xu - with Long Gu (dragon bone) and Mu Li (oyster shell) to stabilize the Kidneys, anchor the yang, and firmly secure the essence against leakage.
