    This formula is for a more severe presentation than that for which the principal formula, Ren Shen Bai Du San, is indicated, and occurs in those with no underlying qi deficiency. Also for early-stage abscesses or sores that are red, swollen, and painful and accompanied by fever, chills, absence of sweating, thirst, a thin white tongue coating and a floating, rapid pulse.
