Long Dan Xie Gan Tang (Gentiana Drain the Liver Decoction) is a powerful classical formula for draining excess fire from the Liver and Gallbladder channels and clearing Damp-Heat from the lower burner. Recorded in the Yi Fang Ji Jie, this formula is indicated for excess Heat presentations characterized by a wiry and rapid pulse and a red tongue with red dots along the sides.
