Disperses wind and clears heat, facilitates the flow of Lung qi

Formula Actions

  • Disperses Wind-Heat
  • Clears Lung Heat
  • Restores Lung Diffusing and Descending Functions
  • Stops Cough
  • Generates Fluids

Wind-Heat penetrates the body via the nose and oral cavity, becoming lodged within the network vessels of the Lung and impairing its ability to descend and disseminate Qi. This results in the Lung's failure to properly direct Qi downward, with a cough emerging as the primary symptom. Given that the invasion is at an initial, superficial level, the Heat remains mild: the fever is slight, thirst is moderate, and the tongue coating remains thin and white. Sang Ye and Ju Hua directly disperse Wind-Heat from the Lung's network vessels, while Bo He facilitates outward release of the pathogen through the exterior. Xing Ren and Jie Geng work to restore the mobility of Lung Qi, thereby alleviating the cough. Lian Qiao clears residual Heat and toxins, and Lu Gen replenishes body fluids lost due to the early-stage Heat. The formula is prepared with a light dosage, carefully calibrated to this mild stage of Wind-Heat, aiming to prevent over-chilling and to safeguard the body's Qi.
