Shen Ling Bai Zhu San is a classical TCM formula that augments the qi, strengthens the Spleen, leaches out dampness, and stops diarrhea.


Shen Ling Bai Zhu San, also known as Ginseng, Poria, and Atractylodes Powder, is one of the most widely used classical TCM formulas for Spleen qi deficiency with dampness. It builds on the foundational four-ingredient Spleen tonic Si Jun Zi Tang with additional herbs to address dampness, diarrhea, and the Lung system.

Pattern: Spleen qi deficiency leading to internally-generated dampness
Chinese Symptomology: Loose stools or diarrhea, reduced appetite, weakness of the extremities, weight loss, distention and a stifling sensation in the chest and epigastrium, pallid and wan complexion. May also be vomiting.
Contraindications: Use with caution, and then only after significant modification, in cases with concurrent heat from yin deficiency
