"This is an effective and popular formula for dysmenorrhea, containing most of the strong herbs used for menstrual blood stagnation. Six out of seven of the herbs invigorate blood and break stasis, and Curcuma Zedoaria (E Zhu) and Sparganium (San Leng) in particular are strong for discharging clots. The formula does not address the root cause of liver qi stagnation or cold in the uterus.
