Chinese Mosla assists the yang qi to throw off pathogenic wind, which has trapped the yang qi internally; especially appropriate during the hot summer months; also harmonizes the Spleen and transforms dampness - Bensky

Excerpted from Bensky: Chinese Herbal Medicine Materia Medica, 3rd ed.

  • Induces sweating and releases the exterior: for externally-contracted patterns of wind-cold during the summer, especially when accompanied by dampness, with such symptoms as chills and fever, headache, absence of sweating, body aches, abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea.
  • Promotes urination and reduces swelling: for edema and urinary difficulty, especially when associated with an exterior pattern.

Dosage

Generally, the recommended formula dosage for an adult is 9 grams per day, but any final decision should be made based on a trained healthcare practitioner's analysis.

Treasure of the East recommends splitting the dosage into two or three servings per day.  If taken twice a day, each serving size is 5 grams.  If taken three times a day, each serving should be 3 grams. Each measuring spoon included with Treasure of the East granules holds 1.5g.

Weight and age also affect dosage, and you can use the following table to identify the suggested dosage for patients based on age and weight:
