Honeysuckle and Forsythia Formula: dispels Wind-Heat, resolves toxin, benefits the throat, and relieves thirst for early-stage Wind-Heat invasion.

Yin Qiao San (Honeysuckle and Forsythia Powder) is the defining classical formula for Wind-Heat invasion of the exterior, recorded by Wu Ju-tong in the Wen Bing Tiao Bian (Systematic Differentiation of Warm Diseases). It releases the exterior, clears Wind-Heat, resolves toxin, and benefits the throat, making it the first-line Chinese medicine formula for the early stage of febrile conditions presenting with sore throat, fever, and headache.

  • Jin Yin Hua (Honeysuckle) and Lian Qiao (Forsythia) form the chief pair, powerfully clearing Heat and resolving toxin; together they give the formula its name
  • Bo He and Niu Bang Zi disperse Wind-Heat and benefit the throat; Jing Jie and Dan Dou Chi release the exterior; Jie Geng opens the Lungs and benefits the throat
  • Dan Zhu Ye clears Heat and promotes urination; Gan Cao harmonizes and soothes the throat
  • Not recommended for pregnant or nursing women; suited for early-stage Wind-Heat only

ActiveHerb Yin Qiao San Granules are produced as a 5:1 whole-formula co-extract. Best used at the earliest onset of Wind-Heat symptoms. One of the most widely dispensed formulas in Chinese medicine for seasonal respiratory conditions.
