Yuan Hua (Genkwa Flos) is the dried flower of Daphne genkwa, classified among the harsh purgatives in the Chinese materia medica. It drives out water and phlegm from the chest and abdomen and is traditionally used for severe fluid accumulation including pleural effusion and ascites. This product is the unprocessed (sheng) form, which is significantly more potent and potentially more toxic than the vinegar-processed (cu zhi) form. For use under the supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner only.
