Cyperi Rhizoma
Xiang Fu essential oil is CO2 extracted in southern China from Cyperus, the Rhizome of nut grass. The underground portion of the plant is collected in autumn for medicinal use, the rhizomes sliced in half and dried in the sun. The oil has a rich, piercing aroma that expands the eyes, vibrates around the ears and hones in on blockages in the abdomen. Xiang Fu enters liver and San Jiao meridians, and is one of the most-used herbs for regulating Qi, freeing the Qi aspect of the 12 channels and 8 vessels. Like all essential oils Xiang Fu is easy to use, fast acting and cost effect.
Common Uses
*For all symptoms associated with Liver Qi stagnation including pain in the hypochondrium, epigastric region and abdomen.
* For emotional disturbance, poor appetite, and chest congestion.
* Disharmony between the liver and spleen.
* Gynecological disorders due to liver Qi stagnation with dysmenorrhea or irregular menstruation.
* Blended with Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong and/or Chai Hu oils for all types of irregular menstruation or pre-menstrual syndrome.
Major known chemical constituents: Sesquiterpines: a-cyperolone >9% (Guang Zhou extractor analysis), B-selinene, cyperine, patchoulenone, sugeonol. Monoterpines: Pinene, camphene, cineole, limonene
