Black Spruce
Picea mariana (black spruce) is a North American species of spruce tree in the pine family. Its sharp, bluish-green needle-like leaves are the primary source of the essential oil, which is extracted through steam distillation. Yun Shan aroma is clean and restorative, less assertive than most pine oils, with a purifying and cleansing character that tends to focus and clear the mind. It is widely used both topically and in aromatherapy. And like all essential oils, it is easy to use, fast acting and cost effective.
Common Uses
* Used in aromatherapy to open breathing passages to benefit lungs (due in part to its significant percentage of camphene).
* For respiratory concerns such as bronchitis, asthma and coughs.
* Applied in dilution to muscles and joints to relieve joint pain, muscle stiffness and spasms.
* Used to calm nervous, hyperactive individuals, and to energize those feeling lethargic (a characteristic of many woody oils).
