- Tonifies the Liver and Kidney yin: for Liver and Kideny yin deficiency with such problems as weakness of the lower back and legs, deficiency consumption with steaming bone disorder, nightsweats, spermatorrhea, and lightheadedness.*
- Clears the Liver and clears the eyes: for superficial visual obstruction from heat in the Liver channel. Can be used as a stand-alone herb for this purpose.*
- Tonifies the Kidney yin and augments the Kidney qi: for edema and urinary difficulty due to stoppage of water associated with Kidney qi dysfunction.*
