Dispels Wind, Cold, and Dampness; tonifies the Liver and Kidney; invigorates Qi and Blood to relieve pain and strengthen joints and tendons.
Du Huo Ji Sheng Tang (Angelica Pubescens and Taxillus Decoction) is a comprehensive classical formula for dispelling Wind, Cold, and Dampness while tonifying the Liver and Kidney. Recorded in the Beiji Qianjin Yaofang by Sun Si-miao, this 14-herb formula addresses painful obstruction (Bi syndrome) arising from underlying Qi, Blood, Liver, and Kidney deficiency.
- Traditionally used to support the joints, lower back, and knees in patterns of chronic cold and damp obstruction with underlying deficiency
- Addresses soreness and weakness in tendons and joints, stiffness, numbness, and weather-sensitive pain in the lower extremities
- Combines Wind-Damp dispelling herbs with Qi and Blood tonics and Liver and Kidney tonics, reflecting the formula's dual approach of dispelling and supplementing
- Not indicated for acute arthritis or flares; suited to chronic, deficiency-type Bi patterns only
ActiveHerb Du Huo Ji Sheng Tang Granules are prepared as a 5:1 whole-formula co-extract. Suitable for licensed practitioners managing chronic lower back pain, osteoarthritis, and degenerative joint conditions rooted in Liver and Kidney deficiency with Wind-Cold-Damp obstruction.
