Huang Lian Jie Du Tang is a classical TCM formula that removes pernicious heat and toxins from all three burners.


Huang Lian Jie Du Tang, translated as Coptis Decoction to Resolve Toxicity, is a classical TCM formula used to clear intense excess heat and fire toxin from all three burners simultaneously. Its four-herb combination of potent bitter, cold herbs is one of the most powerful heat-clearing and toxin-resolving strategies in the classical canon.

  • Removes pernicious heat from the upper burner (Heart and Lungs)
  • Clears heat and fire toxin from the middle burner (Stomach and Spleen)
  • Drains damp-heat from the lower burner
  • Resolves toxins from all three burners simultaneously

This formula is strongly bitter and cold and is not suited for long-term use. Not appropriate for Spleen and Stomach deficiency patterns. Available from Min Tong Herbs as 5:1 concentrated granules. Intended for use under the guidance of a licensed TCM practitioner.
