Four Gentlemen Decoction: the foundational formula for tonifying Spleen and Stomach Qi, with Ginseng, Atractylodes, Poria, and Licorice.
Si Jun Zi Tang (Four Gentlemen Decoction) is the foundational classical formula for tonifying Spleen and Stomach Qi. Recorded in the Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang, this elegant 4-herb formula forms the Qi-tonifying core from which many important formulas are derived, including Ba Zhen Tang, Gui Pi Tang, and Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang.
- The four gentlemen: Ren Shen (Ginseng) tonifies the source Qi; Bai Zhu (Atractylodes) strengthens the Spleen and dries Dampness; Fu Ling (Poria) leaches out Dampness and calms the spirit; Gan Cao harmonizes
- Traditionally used for pale face, low voice, reduced appetite, loose stools, fatigue, and shortness of breath due to Spleen Qi vacuity
- A safe, well-tolerated, and broadly applicable formula suited to long-term supportive use in constitutional Spleen Qi deficiency
- Prepared as a 5:1 concentrated extract granule, equivalent to 500g of dried herb per 100g bottle
ActiveHerb Si Jun Zi Tang Granules are produced via whole-formula co-extraction. Among the most foundational formulas in Chinese medicine, widely prescribed for digestive weakness, fatigue, and constitutional Spleen Qi deficiency across all age groups.
